TL-blogissa on jo aikaisemmin otettu voimakkaasti kantaa ilmiöön nimeltä iPhone, tai ainakin sen tarjoamiin kulutusmahdollisuuksiin. The Guardian-sanomalehden Charlie Brooker on ilmeisesti ymmärtänyt vielä TL-kollektiiviakin paremmin mistä tässä on oikeasti kyse:
